Estrada Nacional 2 (N2) is the longest Portuguese road. It runs along the length of the country, from North to South, connecting the city of Chaves, in Trás-os-Montes, to the city of Faro, in the Algarve. It emerged with the Road Plan of 1945 and officially has a length of 739 kilometers. Along its route, it runs through 35 municipalities, in which it crosses or passes close to 27 of the respective municipal seats.
Sertã is one of the county seats crossed by the N2, more precisely at km 345. However, the N2 enters the municipality of Sertã a few kilometers further back, next to the Cabril dam and the village of Pedrógão Pequeno (km 327).
Traveling on the N2 is discovering Portugal from North to South, in an encounter with its history, with its landscapes, with various cuisines, sweets and wines.
