The Municipal Archive of Fafe is located in a building that results from the recovery and expansion of a palace from the beginning of the 20th century, a living testimony of the architecture of Brazilians, designed to respond to the challenges of today’s society and the new premises of Information Science.

The combination of the very rich collection of the City Council, with collections of parish councils, associations, individuals or companies, make the services a unique place as a repository of the Memory of Fafe, understood between the 19th and 21st centuries. The Municipal Archive is open to the general public, ensuring the consultation of documents, without prejudice to the restrictions imposed by law and safeguarding the limitations resulting from the imperatives of conservation of articles.
